We're a bit more than a month out, so here's a Gravity Head 2013 update.
This year's bombardment will be the 15th such bacchanal in a series that began in 1999, and it commences at the Pizzeria & Public House with a traditional Tailgate Breakfast at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, February 22.
Given that last year's motif was "The End of the World As We Know It," this year's theme is "Return of the Living Gravity Dead." Tony Beard is working on the artwork as we drink.
Our opening day tap takeover partner in 2013 is Sun King Brewing Company out of Indianapolis, and later this week I hope to have a list of 6-8 participants from them.
Happily, we’re going to be able to keep the Founders Brewing Company third-weekend Gravity Head focus alive, albeit with a touch of short-term mystery. Bob Kaiser from Founders and the crew from Cavalier Indiana will be coming to visit on Friday, March 8, so we'll tap all the Founders kegs then, including a Founders "Mystery Ale," the identity of which I'll release when permission is granted by Founders.
Pouring alongside these Founders kegs on March 8 will be NABC's and Flat12's selections for Gravity Head.
Following is a list of Gravity-eligible beers that we have in our possession right now. A handful shown here will NOT appear, as they'll be held for further aging until 2014.
