Revenge of the Highlanders.

Congratulations to Cumberland Brews, winner of the "Best Beer List" category in this year's Readers Choice award in LEO. Flanagan's Alehouse finished second, and Baxter Station third.

Readers looking to experience Louisville's best beer list should look here:

Sorry -- there wasn't room for the 200+ bottles.

Matt G. came by to borrow some malt yesterday. He was suprised by the best beer list award as CB only has five beers on tap. Not to take anything from CB, they do a great job and are an asset to our brewing community.

Didn't the defunct bar The Brewery win third in best brewery years ago?

Yes, although it's been a few years.

Let there be no mistake that I adore Cumberland Brews and tout it at every opportunity.

But if I weren't competitive by nature, none of this would have happened, and I'm growing more comfortable with that as I grow older.

I do what I do because I want to be the best, and it's annoying to not be recognized, even if it is meaningless.

Agreed.

I think your far away location has something to do with the lack of recognition.

In reading the lists yesterday, it looked like they were only taking Louisville into consideration, and not counting Southern Indiana as candidates....

I agree with the sentiment for CB... great beers, and a quickly changing draft list for a different list every time I go in, but how do 5 taps count as the best beer list? Hell, I have 2 taps at home, am I eligible for the award? I probably have better beer on tap there than most places in town.

I think that all of you should get the award simply for giving us beer lovers different venues in the area and a variety of beer styles/flavors to sample.
Cheers!
