Tomlinson Tap Room to feature Indiana's Great American Beer Festival winners

Medal-winning Indiana beers on draught beginning October 28

Tomlinson Tap Room, the craft beer bar run in partnership between Brewers of Indiana Guild and Indianapolis City Market, will serve a number of Hoosier-brewed beers that won medals at Great American Beer Festival (GABF) in Denver last month.

Tomlinson Tap Room's menu exclusively features Indiana beer. Beginning Wednesday, October 28, the following GABF medal-winners will be available during Tomlinson Tap Room's regular hours (Monday - Thursday: 2:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.; Friday - Saturday: 12:00 noon - 9:00 p.m.):
Several winning beers were brewed in limited batches and are no longer available, but their breweries will be sending these in their place:
  • Bier Brewery - 2014 Barrel-Aged Sanitarium
  • Sun King - Gin Barrel-Aged Grapefruit Jungle (IPA)
  • Sun King - Tinytanic Rum Barrel-Aged Sunlight
"We're proud of the strong showing by Indiana brewers at GABF, one of the world's biggest beer festivals and most well-known competitions," said Rob Caputo, Interim Executive Director for Brewers of Indiana Guild. "Breweries in our state brought home nearly twice as many medals as expected, highlighting the variety and quality of beer produced in Indiana."

The winning beers will be available for a limited time. Menus are updated and posted daily on Tomlinson Tap Room's Twitter (@TomTapRoom) and Facebook accounts.

Award-winning breweries will also be pouring at Brewers of Indiana Guild's next beer festival, Winterfest, on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Indiana State Fairgrounds. The event is one of three annual fundraisers for the Guild, the non-profit trade association that represents the state's craft brewing industry.

Local's on tap at the Tomlinson Tap Room in Indianapolis.

Tomlinson Tap Room is on the mezzanine at the Indianapolis City Market. It's a special project stewarded by the city, the market and the Brewers of Indiana Guild, because only Hoosier craft brews are sold there, and there's a diverse and constantly changing selection.

Reminiscent of your favorite neighborhood pub, Tomlinson Tap Room offers an intimate atmosphere as comfortable as your favorite chair—a perfect respite after a long day at work or as a weekend spot to gather with friends.

From the moment you step inside Tomlinson, it's clear this is no ordinary pub. For starters, it features only tapped Indiana craft beer by the pint or the growler fill! With its interior design crafted from reconditioned materials—and the historic setting of the Indianapolis City Market as its backdrop-Tomlinson Tap is the ideal place for craft beer enthusiasts to unwind and enjoy full-flavored brews that are both traditional and distinctive. As you appreciate the art of craft beer, you can craft another Hoosier tradition: good times with good friends.

Indy's Tomlinson Tap Room: 16 taps and exclusively Indiana brewed.

I love it when a plan comes together. This article from the Indy Star's Metromix profiles the recently opened Tomlinson Tap Room, includes a listing of recently opened and "coming soon" Indiana breweries, and provides a glimpse of what I'd like to do with 8-10 of the taps at the Public House.

Verily: It's time to put our mouths where our money is.

Indiana brews make City Market site a hit

... Now, about 10 brewhouses are operating in the area, with at least five more to come in 2011 -- evidence that Hoosiers are eager to raise their pints to the creative, can-do spirit that results in quality. And the newly opened Tomlinson Tap Room, on the mezzanine of City Market, has seemingly become ground zero for Indiana beer enthusiasts. A joint partnership between the City Market and the Brewers of Indiana Guild, the Tap Room is a showcase of both well-loved and rare brews from all over the state.
