For well over a year and a half, we have had a bunch of fun with all of you playing at Studio's Grill and Pub in New Albany. It was a perfect summer venue! Outdoors, great food, great drinks and great FUN! But on August 21st, it will all end as Trish has decided to close Studio's to pursue another venture. But, she is ...not going quietly! In fact, we are proud to be there one last time with the Studio's Last Stand "Screw It" Party. Come join us as we give the entire Studio's gang a big ole FlatHead Screw Send-off into their new future. Enjoy the same great food and atmosphere. But let's turn it up a notch to Eleven for one great big night of Studio's fun. This is also part of the New Albany Beer Walk! We are working on drink and other specials for you. lets pack the place one more time.We will start playing at 9PM and rock till Midnight, but come early for dinner too.. But if you guys are still rockin .... who knows what we will do! FlatHead Screw .... Longer, Harder, Faster as we say.

Last day for Studio's at its current location apparently will be August 21.
Here is breaking Facebook news from the FlatHead Screw band. I've heard that increased rent is a bit part of the problem. Join me in wishing Trish the best as she searches for a new venue.

"Mug Shots" today in LEO: "Local baseball, local beer" -- and a shout-out to Studio's.
The AAA Louisville Bats open at home next week, and the eternal question revisits us: Will there be real beer at the ballpark this summer? It's possible, and that's all there is to say just now. Is there a way for all the players to make money? That's the current consideration. What will happen? I don't know.
While I can't say what Sun King had to do to achieve it, the Indy brewery's canned beer will be available during Indianapolis Indians games this summer, and that's wonderful.

Mug Shots: Local baseball, local beerAlso in today's LEO, Kevin Gibson endorses the stuffed cheeseburger at Studio's Grill and Pub, which is located on Main Street in New Albany. For me, post-council wings and Sierra Nevada remain the Studio's tradition of choice. I've spoken with the proprietor about draft NABC, and we're jointly scouting a small keg box for the purpose.
From Pete Browning’s slugging in the 1880s, to the craftsmanship of Brian Reymiller at Browning’s today, baseball and beer in Louisville should be inseparable in locality and spirit. It cannot be unassisted, but it is the perfect double play: beer brewed here, and baseball played here. Let’s hope for the best at the ballpark this summer.
Studio’s Grill and Pub stuffs it right
It’s almost an obsession now. This stuffed cheeseburger is the stuff of cravings. It’s a one-third pound patty of lean ground beef infused with onions, hunks of bacon (yes, bacon) and seasonings, grilled to your specifications, topped with cheddar or blue cheese crumbles, and served with homemade chips and a pickle spear for a princely $7.75.

NA Event Watch: Bubbles and Bluegrass on Friday, September 25
"Bubbles and Bluegrass" is a free concert event at the New Albany Riverfront Amphitheater on Friday, September 25. Gates open at 6:00 p.m., with bluegrass jam sessions for everyone (bring your instruments) and a free bluegrass guitar workshop conducted by Chris Brandstatt at 6:30 p.m.
The headline act is Cast Iron Airplane, which includes some of Louisville’s premier bluegrass players. Uppa Creek is rumored to be playing prior to Cast Iron Airplane.
Sonny Fenwick's legendary Bubble Truck will be on site, promising bubbles, root beer, hula hoops, balloons and more bubbles. There will be other bubbly things like beer in the Studios riverfront beer garden, boasting a special appearance by NABC Elector for this occasion. The River City Winery also will be there, and there’ll be food.
The organizers urge visitors and attendees to “eat at the event or stop by one of New Albany's many independent restaurants on the way and make a New Albany night of it.”
