The Great Randalltini on stage with Pausa Tosta this Friday as we close Gravity Head 2010.

The poster was made for in-house placement. Just know that we're calling an official "end" to Gravity Head 2010 this Friday, although a few of the beers will remain on tap next week, and we'll be keeping a year-round, dedicated "gravity" faucet to pour big beers all of the time (not that we haven't in the past, anyway).

Randall the Enamel Animal's weekend whereabouts in the company of NABC VII.

NABC’s Jared Williamson, keeper of Randall the Enamel Animal, has performed required minor surgery on our fresh-hopping contraption, and he's ready to take it out for a spin. Consequently, Randall will be adding fresh hop aromas to NABC VII -7th Anniversary Ale (CO2 version) during the coming weekend.

Public House: Friday, October 23.
Bank Street Brewhouse: Saturday, October 24.

We’ll "Randallize" a 1/6 bbl at each location using whole leaf Cascades from the BSB stock, after which VII (a dark IPA) will begin pouring normally until depleted, and Randall will return to the Public House & Pizzeria for additional Lupulin Land duties beginning on Friday, October 30.

Hersbrucker infused NABC Elsa now "Randallized."

Jared took charge of the planning for this year's appearance by Randall the Enamel Animal, and the result is NABC's Elsa Von Horizon Imperial Pilsner modified with Hersbrucker. Jared allowed the first cylinder to steep over the weekend. Get here this afternoon a little after 3:00 p.m. and taste the hops.

In other news, the NABC web site is temporarily, but should be back shortly. Once this annoyance is resolved, we're pushing hard this week to put up a completely revamped site, so stay tuned.

The rear keg box (Guinness, Smithwick's & Lindemans) has died again, and this time I have a bad feel as to the prospects to bring it back to life. We may be out of those three brands the next few days while repair options are explored.

Grrrr.

Randall on steroids?

Here are views of Otto's "Randall on steroids," as equipped and pumping during Schlafly's recent end-of-Prohibition bash at the Bottleworks in St. Louis. Note that the IPA in the fermenter was already being dry hopped before passing through a second helping of the magic cone.

Susan Haberer and the brewing technician himself. Bravo!

Elsa meets Randall for a quickie.

They came together just after lunch on Friday, and by 7:00 p.m., it was over.

Brimming over with Hersbrucker hops, Randall guided Elsa through the labyrinth of the cold plate ... and she was a brand new beer.

There simply wasn't enough of her, but it was beautiful while it lasted.

Note to G: I see what you mean. It really is on the phallic side, isn't it?
