The Hoosier Beer Geeks are chartering a bus and coming to visit both NABC locations on March 6. I looked at the calendar this morning and realized that with 18 days to go until Gravity Head begins, it's time to get my lazy butt in gear and begin generating information -- but, as Augustine said, not just yet. Mike and I will work on the starting lineup this week, and I'll commence the compilation of the programs. This morning, there are other pressing matters awaiting my acumen, such as tonight's Office Hours.

One question was asked: Would there be flights of smaller pours when the HBG bus is parked outside? Customarily, no, but let me see what I can do. Perhaps a buffet of sorts ...

What Gravity Head Is, and Why You'd Want to Take a Bus There

We at Hoosier Beer Geek may be guilty of assuming too much from time to time, and it recently occurred to me that perhaps a deeper explanation of what this whole Gravity Head Bus Trip is all about.

No April Fooling here; last call has arrived. It's the 28th business day of Gravity Head 2008, and pretty much everything has been depleted, with only five listed selections pouring and four more still awaiting delivery. It was by far the fastest moving Gravity Head ever. Thanks to everyone who attended and enjoyed the choices.

It's Day 22 of Gravity Head 2008, and there are only five beers remaining to be tapped. Already we're beginning to rotate non-gravity beers on to the vacated taps, and all in all, this has been the fastest moving Gravity Head ever -- hands down.

Gravity Head St. Patrick's Day lineupdate for Monday, March 17.

Thirty-four (34) down out of 62 total as we head into Day 15 of Gravity Head 2008, which also happens to be St. Patrick's Day.

Accordingly, our annual color-coded homage to Irishness in beer styles will be offered, including Bell's Expedition Stout (2006 11.5% abv); Upland Ard-Ri Imperial Irish-style Red Ale (8.7% abv) and Rogue Kells Irish Lager, the latter a non-Gravity selection. See "NABC and Saturday's St. Patrick's Day Parade in Louisville" for photos of our wet ride during Saturday's parade in Louisville.

Note also that the only green-colored beer available for St. Patrick’s Day will be bottled Berliner Weiss with woodruff syrup. That won’t stop seemingly clever people from asking for it.

Non-gravity items of interest: Both Schlenkerla Fastenbier (Lenten smoked lager) and the firkin of cask-conditioned WinterCoat Vildmose (Denmark; 5.8% abv; brown ale with a touch of peat smoke, and spicing that includes bog myrtle and rowan berries) remain on tap today.
