The simple pleasures of beering locally. I'm older now, and simple beer pleasures are the most meaningful to me. They tend to be encountered locally. It is my aim to get unplugged and explore some of them, slowly and thoughtfully. I'd tell you where it's leading, except that I've no idea ... and that's the whole point of the journey: To find out.

Dream lineup of draft smoked beers.
Under ideal circumstances, how many draft smoked beers could be assembled at the Public House at one time?
Based on previous experience, and with everything breaking right, here’s the potential list:
BBC (St. Matthews) Black Silk Smoked Porter
NABC ConeSmoker
Rogue Smoke
Spezial Rauchbier
Schlenkerla Fastenbier
Schlenkerla Rauchbier Urbock
Schlenkerla Rauchbier Marzen
Schlenkerla Rauchbier Weizen
Stone Smoked Porter
There might be variants, as I believe that in the past, BBC has aged the Black Silk in a bourbon barrel at least one time, maybe more.
Also, one might argue that the Scotch barrel aged versions of Harviestoun’s Old Engine Oil and JW Lees Vintage Harvest qualify owing to peat in the residual whisky, but that might be a bit far-fetched.
